The Durham Children’s Aid Foundation Birdhouse Auction, is an annual event in which local artists flock together and create one-of-a-kind birdhouses. Built by local carpenter and craftsman Ron Marsh, the birdhouses were displayed and auctioned off on Mother's Day weekend (May 6, 7 and 8 ) at Meta 4 Gallery in Port Perry. Over $2,000 was raised.
Organized by Foundation Trustee and Prince Albert resident Laura Francis, the event not only raises much needed funds, but serves as a reminder of the power of the creative spirit and how helping those most in need can be rewarding and inspiring.
