Each year during the holidays, there are thousands of families in Durham Region who are unable to have a traditional holiday celebration because they cannot afford food for their children – let alone presents to wrap or stockings to stuff. It is for this reason that the Foundation funds the Holiday Hope Program every year.

Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors, supporters and volunteers, 725 families in Durham Region were able to experience the wonder and excitement of the Holiday Season – making this by far our most successful program to-date. This includes close to 2,000 children, youth and caregivers.

Thank you to everyone who supported the 2011 Holiday Hope Program. You really did make a positive impact that will never be forgotten.

“I am forever thankful for not only the gifts, but the thought behind the whole thing.  It means so much that there are people like you out there and I hope that one day I can do the same thing, to give the gift of giving like you have done for me.
